Surviving this wave of the Covid-19 calamity, we have witnessed a climbing death toll and are now engulfed by a tsunami of mass trauma. In this darkness, handmade rainbows have appeared in windows everywhere. With this hopeful use of non-verbal, creative expression, I wonder whether people might be more amenable to the practice of art therapy.
There is no vaccine for the emotional ramifications we are experiencing as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and so we must find ways to nourish our mental health. All we need is a safe environment, like art therapy, to allow sufficient space to process these feelings the best we can. So join me and let’s art about it.
